diaureka
It just occurred me : as much as I don't care for the word blog - (well, I don't just love it) - journal, being French in origin, I suppose, turns into its own ugly mouthful when used as anything but a noun.
And diary - which implies something more personal, intimate, special - although I prefer it - not to mention diarist versus blogger or journalist, which heads off to meet its meaning in another profession altogether - diary exists completely without a verb form.
I have probably written in my diaries more than I have performed any other intentional common act in my life - bizarre to think the thing I have done more than any other, especially when you consider language-related activities, has no way to DO anything in a sentence at all.
Diaries do so much to be so passive.
Diary won't yield a verb. Go ahead and try it - don't tell anyone - do it privately, the attempts sound incredibly foolish...
